- Palliative care focuses on quality of life Of those suffering from terminal, illness chronic medical conditions, including transplant, related problems and cancer, and it’s complications The palliative care team comprises of nurses, doctors volunteers, paramedic staff who come together to enable continued care, coordinate with cancer and illness related treatment, which may include multi speciality care, comfort care, pain relief,and also provide for psychological counseling not just for patient, but also the family of the patient

- Our team has launched a fundraiser for 2024 to help gather financial support for Amrit Dhara - “nectar of life “ a volunteer run free palliative care center the only one in the state of Odisha India amritdhara.org.in

Project Shruti
- Blindness separates people from things, and hearing loss separates people from people. Helen Keller. A big shout out to our team Aaina, Sambhav and Cholamandalam Finance Hearing helps in education skill development maintaining relationships and connections with friends and family, fully participating in team and community activities, and experiencing life events. Hearing amplifiers , hearing aids and cochlear implants specifically the last two aid in overcoming hearing loss challenges.
- Project Shruti was launched August 15 th 2023 and is functional in 3 districts of Odisha
- India - Ganjam. Nayagarh and Khorda A total of approximately 4000 school children and adults have been screened free of cost as of now , with 200 identified with hearing loss This week approximately 50 pair of hearing aids were distributed to those on the list of 200 needing hearing aids We need help securing more hearing aids and are hopeful of collaboration with other non profits to help achieve this goal

Maternal Health Program Odisha
- 50-98% of maternal deaths are caused by direct obstetric causes (hemorrhage, infection, and hypertensive disorders, ruptured uterus, hepatitis, and anemia
- “WHO commends India for its groundbreaking progress in recent years in reducing the maternal mortality ratio (MMR) by 77%, from 556 per 100 000 live births in 1990 to 130 per 100 000 live births in 2016. India’s present MMR is below the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) target and puts the country on track to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target of an MMR below 70 by 2030”
- Hence the need for universal newborn hearing screening and more so continued screening for hearing loss in children through school years The main aim of Shruti Project is to make hearing loss screening accessible to young school children in rural and underserved areas of Odisha India by providing mobile audiology service
- The most important factors influencing this decline in India is providing for better and widespread free maternal health care , support for safe delivery access like free transport also women in India are among most literate today lastly the gap between public and private health care is slowly narrowing ensuring quality and safe maternal healthcare in India

SaiKrishna Sahoo One Boy’s Hearing Journey
- After his cochlear implant surgery in July, SaiKrishna has been making remarkable progress, responding to sounds and undergoing rehabilitation and speech therapy.
- It is a joy to witness his journey towards a world of sound and communication. We continue to support and send our best wishes as we follow along Saikrishna's growth and development.

Mobile Audiology Unit Pilot Project
- The Shruti Project is a pilot project , first time ever and one of its kind Mobile Hearing loss screening service Launched on August 15 th 2023 SNEHA Support Foundation Inc.
- Hearing loss an invisible disability ; the worst in the list of Disabilities Unless children hear, their speech and skills will not develop and they will fall behind as adults without anyone noticing !

Odisha Train Accident Disaster Collective Relief
- On the evening of June 2nd the coromandel express, a passenger train carrying families during peak summer vacation hit a goods train in Odisha, India.
- Our disaster relief campaign raised over $1000 to support the volunteers who continue to tirelessly work and assist the families that have been affected- not only with on-site and in-hospital work, but psychosocial support, long-term rehabilitation plans, paperwork for orphaned children, advocacy for medical and surgical care for those affected and more.

2022-2023
Educational support to students
- Providing laptop to a medical student
- When student Baikuntha Sethi, of the Satyabadi constituency Odisha, qualified for medical college through an entrance exam, he was unable to afford the tuition fees. However, the government of Odisha approved his scholarship, and all tuition-related expenses were covered. But he could not source a laptop which was required for his online classes.
- SNEHA support foundation was made aware of this need through Mr. Amit Kumar Pradhan, a volunteer of GOV (Global Odia Volunteers), and sponsored the purchase of a laptop for Mr. Sethi. This shows Mr. Rudranath Aditya presenting the laptop to Baikuntha Sethi.

- Providing a mobile phone to a Ph.D. student
- Chandrasekhar Sahoo, a brilliant boy from Jaipur, needed a mobile phone for communication and studies doing his Ph.D. at Utkal University. With the advocacy of another GOV volunteer, Sai Debabtata, SNEHA support was able to step in and meet the need.

- A clothing drive was conducted- collections for families and children were donated to the Hope Chest at Warwick, NY for use by local communities in need and especially for victims being cared for at Fearless Hudson Valley, a shelter for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual violence, and other types of crime victimization.

Supporting a Hygiene Drive
- Hygiene products like toiletries, shaving items, lotion, soaps, laundry detergents, towels, and sanitary products and a check of $200 from Drs. Uma Ballava Mishra & Shanti Mishra were collected and donated to the YWCA of Binghamton, NY, to be used by women & families at a shelter unit.

Breast Cancer Awareness
- Team SNEHA participated in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Hudson Valley, an annual event of the American Cancer Society
- We walked to support the survivors and walked to fight for cancer research and treatment.
- Oncologist Dr. Uma Ballava Mishra and radiation physicist Dr. Shanti Mishra (photographed) have been among the first sponsors of this event since 1997, and have participated annually
- Team SNEHA raised $227 for this cause
