COVID-19 pandemic
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the founding members were involved in organizing activities that directly helped people in distress in India. In response to the first wave, the members provided for a mobile COVID testing van, currently being used by the Health & Family Welfare Department in the state of Odisha. As the second wave hit, the BreatheIndia campaign was launched and raised close to $74,000 directed towards supplying pulse oximeters and oxygen concentrators to doctors at the grassroots and community hospitals in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. Additional projects included chemotherapy support for a jaw cancer patient, providing groceries to impacted communities, and direct financial aid to 15 families to stimulate their family-run fishing business and encourage long-term sustainability. The founding members wanted to continue a coordinated work with all their partner non profit organizations that came together during the pandemic with one common goal ; to help those who needed the most.
